Tips For Cleaning and Organizing Your Small Kitchen

Cleaning and Organizing Small Kitchen Myrtle BeachIf you have a small kitchen, then you’ve probably already thought about how to organize your space better in order to maximize Tips For Cleaning and Organizing Your Small Kitchen. Cleaning and organizing tend to go hand in hand, so we thought we’d share some great organizing tips for maximizing your space in a small kitchen!

If you don’t have adequate cabinet space, then there are several ways to add function and space to the cabinets you do have. There are corner racks that can be inserted in cabinets and will allow you to stack dishes in two sections, rather than only stacking plates, for example. You would be able to get twice as many dishes in the cabinet, by utilizing the entire height of the space.

Use shallow drawers to store flat items such as utensils, and deeper drawers for larger items like bowls or pots and pans. You can get drawer organizers or dividers in any size, and that will allow you to make the most of your drawer space. Keeping your drawers cleaned and organized will make life much easier!

With cabinets, consider installing a small wastebasket hinge that pulls out when you need it. Towel rods or small racks can be installed on the inside door of cabinets, expanding the space for storage. With the larger cabinets typically under the sink, utilize the space to the max by remembering to use the height, not just the width and depth. Storage racks or units that stack will allow you to store larger items on the bottom of the shelf and other items in the containers or racks that you install. You could literally triple your space with this idea. A pull out caddy under your sink is great for cleaning supplies or for storing the lids to all those plastic containers! We all know how frustrating the plastic storage bowls can be to keep neat and organized….

Remember—even if you have a small kitchen, you can utilize the space in such a way that you actually enjoy having everything within close reach. It makes cleaning and organizing easier than you might think. The main thing to remember is to organize in such a way that it fits YOUR way of functioning in the kitchen. Think about where you stand, which direction you would like to reach for something, and which items you use most often. Then arrange your storage accordingly. Having your small space streamlined and organized also makes it much easier to clean.
